===== Heart in a box ===== (This version used, since no 2024 version available) The box's interior is lined with thin sheets of lead to thwart certain forms of divination magic, including the //Detect Magic// spell. Inside the box is the dry, withered heart of a humanoid. A //Detect Magic// spell reveals an aura of strong Necromancy magic around the heat, while an //Identify// spell or similar magic reveals its magical properties (This is what //Identify// gets you: "You get immunity to Poison, avoids most Exhaustion and gains the ability to get up from even the heaviest of hits"). A creature that has a heart in it's own body can attune to the withered heart as though it were a magic item. When it does so, the withered heart switches places with the attuned creature's living heart. The creature's living heart is then moved into the box, where it withers and almost dies. The heart gains the same properties as the tiefling's heart, allowing it to be passed on in the same way. The attuned character then becomes //Undead//, and is no more living, gaining the following properties: * **No Hunger**: The character no longer needs to eat, but still needs to sleep * **Damage Immunity**: Poison * **Condition Immunity**: Poisoned * **Keeps Going**: Advantage to saves versus Exhaustion * **Undead Fortitude**: If damage reduces the undead to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is from a critical hit or is //Radiant// damage. On a success, the undead drops to 1 hit point instead. * **Limited Healing**: Healing spells only work if they are at least 2nd level, and heal one die less. Same goes for potions. * **Decay**: Since the character is now //Undead//, it's body decays The now //Undead// character can get rid of the heart (and the //Undead// condition) by getting another creature to //Attune// to the heart. When this happens the character gets back it's own heart (if the character is still alive). This creates a new //Undead// - with the moral implications that entails. The character's heart can also be put back in it's body by reawakening the heart with //Negative Energy Flood// spells. Once it has gained 20 temporary HP from the //Negative Energy Flood// it pops back into the character, and he/she is released from the Attunement. If the characters gets back it's own heart it falls into a coma, at 0 HP and 5 levels of Exhaustion. There is no way of avoiding the coma, short of a //Wish// spell. The box must be kept within 20 feet of the character. If it goes further, the character falls unconscious. If the box moves further than 200 feet, the character dies. If the heart or box is destroyed, the characters dies, and can only be revived with //True Resurrection//. If the character //Un-Attunes// from the heart it dies. ---- Første beskrivelse var at man kunne få sit hjerte på plads med //Limited Wish//. Men den formular findes ikke i 5e. Så det blev ændret til //Negative Energy Flood//. ---- ===== Nævnt i ===== {{backlinks>.}}
