Yawning Portal ===== Berømt kro i Waterdeep, ejet og drevet af Durnan, en tidligere eventyrer. -- The Yawning Portal is far-and-away the most famous inn in the world. It’s a three-story stone building with a slate gray roof and several chimneys. A signboard that simply reads “The Yawning Portal,” hangs on chains from a black iron pole above the front door, announcing the entry to the inn. Well-worn boards cover the floor, but the main impression is of comfort. Rich blue tapestries of fairytale adventurers decorate the wood-paneled walls of the common room, which consist of a bar and tables of stout wood. ===== Entry to Undermountain ===== The inn has a wells that serves as entry points to Undermountain. It measures 40 feet in diameter (12 meters), descends 140 feet (43 meters), and is located between the bar and dining tables. This dry well is the main and only publicly known passage to Undermountain. A waist-high stone ring is built around the well to prevent customers and objects from falling into the dungeon. Around the 50 feet point (15 meters), the well grows completely dark and on reaching the floor, one entered a sandy floor with stone walls decorated with shields. These shields are rusty to the point of uselessness but for one purpose: people who want to be drawn up hit these shields and the noise made that way is considered a sign that people below want to be pulled up from the dungeon. ===== Atmosphere ==== The clientele consists mostly of adventurers eager to enter the depths of Undermountain. The Called, as they are sometimes known, listen to Waterdhavians, who are only too keen on sharing rumors and stories about the dungeon. As Durnan, despite his old age, is still a brawny man, who keeps his old greatsword among the racks and asks any troublemakers to leave the inn, the Yawning Portal remains safe from toughs and brawlers. ===== Friendly faces ===== ===== Challenges ===== Remember House Rules: Getting Drunk. Some of these games might have consequences after the game has finished. **Bird Catcher** Catch a bat when they come up out of the Underdark. **Spice & Dice** Roll a d6 dice. This is the number of spicy chicken tenders your opponent must eat. Who hold out the longest? Start with a tolerance of 10 + CON mod. Skip a turn to drink ale, and recover 1d4 tolerance. Game ends when a player reaches 0 tolerance. Then roll CON Save DC 10 + (tenders eaten/5; round up) to aviod throwing up. **The Drunken Fool** This is a drinking game. First one to get drunk pays for 1 rounds of drink for everyone in the inn. They can challenge Durnan, the drinking champion, but they're up against Durnan always rolling with advantage. He rarely accepts, cause most of the time he likes staying sober, but when he does, beating him means a free round for everyone and free Shadowdark ale alongside meals worth 5sp and below for the player that lasts for 24 hours. **Twenty Sharpeye** Basically it's darts. Player's take turns rolling 1d20 and 1d6 (3 times). The d20 determines what number they hit. The d6 determines where on the number it hits. (for example a 1 is in the outer ring, a 6 is in the bull's eye.) First player to 301, wins. **The Winning Toad** The Winning Toad is a quick 1d20 check between two players to see if who can jump the highest. Higher number wins. **Crown and Anchor** A betting game. Player's can put any amount of gold on a grid numbered 1 through 6. They then roll 3d6 one time. If 1 die match their bet number, they win 1X the original bet. If 2 dice match their bet number, they win 2X the original bet. If 3 dice match their bet number, they win 3X the original bet. If 0 die match their bet number, they lose the original bet. **High Card Low Card** High Card Low Card is based on Animal Crossing. **Above 50 Below** Above 50 Below (Above 50 Below 50) is the same as High Card Low Card, just with 100 numbers and lower win rate because you have to guess the exact number. It's called Above 50 Below 50 because players have to ask "Is it above 50 or below 50?". The one who holds the number tells them and that's when they guess the exact number. Usually played when stakes are high or when the reward is really good. ===== Links ud af Wiki ===== https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Yawning_Portal ===== Nævnt i
