Shield Guardian

A shield guardian was a powerful construct created to defend arcane spellcasters. They were called aegiskeryn in Elven.
Behavior
Each shield guardian is keyed to a special magical amulet. If the amulet is destroyed, the guardian will cease to function until keyed to a replacement amulet.
Whoever wears the amulet can control the shield guardian, and if the last wearer dies, the guardian will obey its final orders to the best of its ability.
A shield guardian can not speak, but it can magically understand the commands of anyone controlling it through the amulet, no matter the speaker's language.
The default behavior of a shield guardian is to follow it's master everywhere and protect him or her. If given other orders, it will do its best to obey, though it is not adept at solving problems. One can be programmed to perform certain tasks at certain times or in response to certain stimuli.
